Bettr was conceived from the seed of an idea, one late, late night. It came after discussing a lot of changes in how people are choosing to live their lives, how they’re choosing to work, the shift to people having home offices, and what was considered the “unorthodox” way of making money.
Let’s get this straight first: This is not a “get rich quick” community. It’s about building a steady, viable online business that fits with your lifestyle. Your success is 100% dependent on your ability to execute, learn, and have fun!
Not everyone wants to be a full blood entrepreneur, who’s responsible for running a multi-person company, and dealing with the pressures of investors and making sure employees always have food on their tables. And not everyone wants to have a lifestyle job, where they make just enough to get by. There’s a smarter way to build a business that can consist of just yourself (being a solo-preneur) or working with partners, which is what we intend to explore with you on Bettr.
Both of the friendly faces you’ll see behind Bettr Co. are recovering 9-5ers, and both worked for digital marketing agencies — making other companies and people successful, while not having the enough time to make those skills work for us. Once we left and started working for ourselves, 3+ years ago, we were able to put these practices into play and ultimately live outside of the normal bounds of “traditional” work. On this journey, we’ve also helped many friends and acquaintances build businesses for themselves that generate a return, and learn valuable digital marketing skills, ultimately giving them the kick-start to having multiple revenue streams and living the life they want.
On the flip side, while working in the digital marketing space, we found that a lot of companies would hire us in to consult and build their internal teams. Most of that training focused on outreach, because that seemed to be the toughest nut to crack when it came to content success and getting visibility. Others needed content marketing training because they weren’t sure where to start when it came to getting their business out there.
We’re taking all of this knowledge and condensing it into multiple courses for you. The first course is outreach, because it’s an incredibly necessary skill, and I’ve had SO many bad instances of outreach emails to myself. I’ve spent years doing (successful) outreach and training others how to do it as well, for multi-million dollar companies. A lot of what we cover isn’t going to be considered “sexy” by any means, but harnessing these skills and growing them will lead you to having more confidence when building your business, and ultimately generating more revenue.
Also, working for yourself can get effing lonely and challenging sometimes, so we’re going to eventually add all course alumni into a Slack group so members can support each other, and also exchange strategies that they find work. We’ll also be available for “office hours”, which means we’ll be answering questions and checking out what everyone is building.
